An Aeromexico Boeing 787-8 made an emergency landing at Shannon airport in Ireland today, following an alert in the aircraft's cargo hold.
The flight was en route from Mexico City to Paris when "an alert turned on in the cargo compartment", says the SkyTeam carrier.
"The crew decided to divert to Shannon Airport in Ireland, landing without mishap," it adds.
Reports say there was a fire in the cargo compartment, but an Aeromexico spokesperson refutes this.
The airline says it is working to transport the passengers to Paris as soon as possible.
Aeromexico operates seven 787-8s, Flightglobal's Ascend Fleets shows. It took delivery of its first 787 in 2013, and was the second Latin American carrier to operate the aircraft.
