Australian aviation company Aeromil is conducting due diligence on Cessna Pacific after the US aircraft manufacturer put its Australian subsidiary up for sale.

The US general aviation and business jet manufacturer created Cessna Pacific four years ago when it purchased the former Citistate Aviation. The subsidiary, based at Sydney's Bankstown airport, is wholly owned by the manufacturer and is responsible for aircraft sales, maintenance and spares support in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the Asia-Pacific region.

Aeromil has a wide-ranging business that includes the sourcing and acquisition of new and used business jets and regional airliners, maintenance, product support, consultancy, training and charter services. The group owns Queensland regional carrier Sunshine Express and established Singapore Airlines' flying college in 2001.

The manufacturer is talking to "possible interested parties", says Michael Keenan, Cessna Pacific general manager aircraft sales.

Australian Cessna sales representative and maintenance organisation Airflite looked at acquiring Cessna Pacific but is not interested, says Homer Constantinides, managing director. Airflite is a sales agent for Cessna single pistons in parts of Australia and Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
