Unlike ET, passengers on the new Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner will soon be able to phone home inflight, thanks to new Aeromobile technology (Hall 4, A15). The Worldliner exhibited here this week is kitted out with Aeromobile's flight-proven passenger mobile cellular technology. Aeromobile is a partnership between US company ARINC and Norwegian company Telenor.

"Market research has shown that passengers - especially business people on international flights - carry mobile phones and the majority would like the option of using them," says Graham Lake, managing director EMEA, for ARINC.

Aeromobile leverages the Inmarsat Classic Aero H, H+ and I satcom systems already installed on the majority of today's long-haul airliners.
