Germany’s Deutsche Aircraft has selected UK-based engineering specialist Senior to provide key systems for its D328eco turboprop.
Senior will be responsible for designing and building the bleed-air system for the regional aircraft as well as the engine build-up interface for the Pratt & Whitney PW127XT-S powerplants.
Deutsche Aircraft says Senior will perform the design work at its California facility, located in Burbank.
Production of the system will be carried out at its Cheshire plant in the UK.
“This is a tangible example of our purpose in action,” says Senior Aerospace chief Launie Fleming. “Helping to engineer the transition to a more sustainable world for the benefit of all our stakeholders.”
Deutsche Aircraft’s contract with Senior follows its picking US-based Triumph Group for the pre-cooler system.
“We are increasingly engaged with the development of new thermal systems and solutions to support the sustainable future of flight,” says Triumph systems, electronics and controls president Justin Wolfanger.
Deutsche Aircraft will manufacture the 40-seat D328eco – a refreshed and modernised version of the 328 turboprop – at an assembly line near Leipzig airport.
As well as new engines the aircraft will have an upgraded cockpit, and be compatible with sustainable aviation fuel.
