Conversion developer Mammoth Freighters has conducted the first Boeing 777-300ER cargo door installation with modification partner Aspire MRO.

The aircraft (N463AC) was formerly operated by Cathay Pacific and Russian carrier Nordwind.

It has been undergoing conversion to a 777-300ERMF for AviaAM Leasing at Forth Worth’s Alliance airport. Door cut commenced in August last year.

“This marks another step towards completing the -300ERMF conversion and attaining [supplementary type] certification,” says Mammoth Freighters.

Mammoth has developed the -300ERMF conversion to complement its 777-200LRMF programme, based on the -200LR.

Last year the US FAA granted clearance for each aircraft to carry up to eight personnel – four in the cockpit plus four supernumeraries, of which three can enter the Class E cargo compartment during flight.

The company has been converting -200LRs both at Aspire MRO and in the UK, at the STS Aviation Services facility in Manchester.

STS introduced the first 777-200LR – a former Delta Air Lines aircraft – in mid-2024, and a second of the type, previously with Qatar Airways, arrived towards the end of the year. These jets are being converted for DHL.
