Deutsche Aircraft has appointed Nico Neumann as chief operating officer and joint managing director.
Most recently Neumann was vice-president of operations and programme, and had also been overseeing development of the airframer’s new final assembly line (FAL) at Leipzig Halle airport.
Neumann will continue to be the company’s point of contact for the German government – a position he has held since assisting with the selection of the Leipzig site.
In June, Deutsche Aircraft said construction of the Leipzig FAL is due to begin late this year or in early 2023.
Deutsche Aircraft is bringing to market the D328eco, a stretched and modernised version of the original Dornier 328 turboprop, which will be able to carry 43 passengers and run on 100% sustainable aviation fuel. Service entry is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
