The NASA Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, has completed a second firing of Boeing's Rocketdyne XRS-2200 aerospike engine, originally developed for the cancelled X-33 programme, as part of NASA's Space Launch Initiative programme. The 80% thrust, 25s firing will be followed by a third and, for now, final test under the project.
