Air France Industries KLM Engineering and Maintenance and Avtrade have joined forces to open a Miami-based centre dedicated to sales, leasing and exchanges for several Boeing and Airbus narrowbodies and widebody models.
The equal joint venture called AAF Spares LLC will stock spares for Airbus A320, A330 and A340 models, as well as the Boeing 737, 757, 767 and 777 types.
"With AAF Spares LLC, the group is consolidating its MRO network in America and will provide a competitive top-quality spares service to operators across the Americas," says Franck Terner, AFI-KLM E&M’s executive vice-president. "In addition to enjoying dedicated access to the spares inventories of its parent companies, AAF Spares LLC will also benefit from the local expertise of AFI KLM E&M repair shops, and in particular those of its AMG subsidiary, to deliver genuine service excellence to its clients."
AFI KLM E&M and Avtrade founded AAF Spares Limited, the new venture’s parent company, in 2011. AFI KLM E&M also owns Aero Maintenance Group, a firm based in Atlanta and Miami that operates three maintenance facilities.
