Midrand-based Aerospace Monitoring and Systems (AMS) has been selected to provide aircraft monitoring equipment for use in about 100 BAE Systems Hawk trainers to be manufactured for Bahrain, India and the UK, building on earlier business with Hawk users Australia and Canada.
AMS also supplies aircraft, engine and health and usage monitoring systems for the AgustaWestland A109 light utility and Denel Rooivalk attack helicopters and the Indian air force's Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighters.
The company now hopes to attract an international partner to help it secure work in the commercial sector, says managing director Christo Weder.
