NATO has confirmed its intention to sign a contract with the Northrop Grumman/EADS-led Transatlantic Industrial Proposed Solution (TIPS) team early next year for its Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) system. The organisation earlier this month discounted the rival Cooperative Transatlantic AGS Solution bid in a surprise development (Flight International, 20-26 April). The €3.5 billion ($4.2 billion) programme will deliver a mix of NATO-owned manned and unmanned battlefield surveillance aircraft from 2010.
