Agusta is to produce all 20 naval NH Industries NH90 helicopters for the Netherlands, following a Dutch decision not to proceed with local production. The deal is part of larger success for the Italian company, which now shares 32% of the production for the utility helicopter.

The NH90 will be built on three production lines, with 32%of the workshare going to Agusta. Eurocopter France holds 31.2%, Eurocopter Germany has 31.2% and Fokker's share is 5%. Italy will be the biggest customer, with the army ordering 120 tactical transport variants, the navy requiring 64 naval versions and the air force needing 35 combat search and rescue dedicated machines, a total of 219 helicopters, or 35% of the total production order.
