The US Army has grounded its entire fleet of AH-64 Apache attack helicopters until inspections for possible problems with rotor pins are carried out. The fleet consists of 743 helicopters.

Each of the aircraft has eight rotor pins and the aircraft will be unable to fly until inspections and any required repairs are completed.

The army's Apache fleet was grounded twice last November while problems with the hangar bearing assembly and clutch assembly in the transmission were investigated.
