Panorama wide-field projector displays for flight-deck simulators Founded only 13 years ago, SEOS Displays has built up a niche in the simulator market to become the world's main supplier of panoramic image projectors. Last year the fast growing UK company released a new version of Panorama which has become the first to meet US level D requirements for helicopter simulators.

Starting out with simple projector displays, SEOS first began to break new ground five years ago. It set itself the task of developing more sophisticated digital, multi-channel projector technology and patented its own mirror system, which produced new levels of accuracy and fields of view.

Virtually all of the world's simulator manufacturers now acquire at least some display systems from SEOS, and the company estimates that it holds around 75% of the market for cross-cockpit viewing systems.

The latest version projects an image across a field which stretches 60º vertically as well as 200º horizontal. FlightSafety International has already placed an order for three of the new type.

The wide vertical field has allowed the new system to become the first to meet US Federal Aviation Administration Level D requirements for helicopters. SEOS believes that the new Panorama release is well positioned to become the international helicopter standard.
