Air Caraibes Atlantique, a new subsidiary of Caribbean carrier Air Caraibes, is launching Airbus A330-200-operated transatlantic services from Guadeloupe and Martinique to Paris this month. The airline will serve Paris Orly from Forte-de-France on the island of Martinique thrice weekly, while services to Pointe-a-Pitre on Guadeloupe will operate four times a week. Competing with Air France and Corsair, the airline is launching the routes following the Air Lib collapse, and will reinforce its presence with the addition of a second A330 in February. Parent company Air Caraibes operates ATR 42s, ATR 72s, Dornier 228 turboprops and Embraer ERJ-145s on intra-Caribbean routes.
