Air China has selected the Pratt & Whitney PW4090 to power its five Boeing 777s, which are due for delivery from October 1998. The deal is worth $170 million to the US engine manufacturer. The airline, which is already a P&W customer, will purchase ten installed engines and three spares. Deliveries of the engines will begin in October 1998.
