Air Europa - the airline that was first to place commitments for the original Airbus A350 three years ago - has switched to the rival Boeing 787. The Spanish carrier has placed orders for eight Rolls-Royce Trent 1000-powered 787-8s, and purchase rights on eight more. Air Europa's decision signals the end of restructuring of the orderbook for the original A350 model, with customers having been migrated by Airbus to the new XWB or chosen an alternative aircraft type.
