Air France is reviewing financing bids covering three new Boeing 777-300ER deliveries due next year, market sources indicate.
The French carrier issued a request for proposals for commercial debt financing last month, seeking euro-denominated offers. But one banking source says Air France could also consider Japanese yen proposals through combined fiscal structures.
The SkyTeam carrier is seeking around €360 million-worth ($400 million) of debt to cover the three deliveries that are scheduled for delivery in March and April, says another banking source.
Flightglobal's Fleets Analyzer database shows Air France has three Airbus A320 deliveries also scheduled in 2016.
Last month, Air France-KLM was rumoured to have approached financiers with a request for proposals for 2016 deliveries of five widebodies, including 787-9s to be operated by KLM, sources said.
KLM's first 787-9 is set to join the fleet this month, with a second to follow in November. Both are under operating lease agreements with AerCap.
A third leased aircraft is due in February 2016. Flightglobal's Fleets Analyzer database shows that AerCap will also place another 787-9 with the Dutch carrier next year.
