Air France subsidiary Regional is to acquire six Embraer 190LRs, making it the type’s first operator in Europe.

Regional, which has placed options on six more aircraft, will configure the E-190LR with a 100-seat, single-class layout. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2007.

The aircraft replace an existing order for seven Embraer ERJ-145s and will be deployed on Regional’s inter-regional network, which links 45 cities in France and Europe.

Regional is Europe’s largest Embraer operator with 28 ERJ-145s, nine ERJ-135s and 11 EMB-120 Brasilias. Six Saab 2000s complete its fleet.
