Flight International online news 10:00GMT: Air France subsidiary Regional is to acquire six Embraer 190LRs in a move which will make it the first operator of the type in Europe.
Regional, which has placed options on a further six, will configure the aircraft with a 100-seat, single-class layout.
Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2007.
The aircraft will replace an existing seven-strong Embraer ERJ-145 order. They will be deployed on Regional’s inter-regional network, which links 45 cities in Europe and France.
Embraer values the deal at $189 million at catalogue prices.
Regional is Europe’s largest Embraer operator with 28 ERJ-145s, nine ERJ-135s and 11 EMB-120 Brasilias. Six Saab 2000s complete Regional’s fleet.
