Los Angeles-based Air Lease (ALC) has confirmed a nearly year-old agreement with Airbus to buy 36 A320neos, including 20 A321neos.
The agreement that was announced on 6 June also includes options for 14 A320neo family aircraft.
The two-year-old lessor founded by Steven Udvar-Hazy adds that engine selection will be made later.
The engine candidates for A320neo family aircraft are the Pratt & Whitney PW1200 geared turbofan and the CFM International Leap-1A.
The original memorandum of understanding that was signed at the 2011 Paris air show called for deliveries of A320neo family aircraft to extend from 2016 to the first half of 2019.
ALC now has orders for 50 A320s and 14 A330s from Airbus.
