Former Brussels Airlines and Caribbean Airlines head Peter Davies has been named as the chief executive of Air Malta, succeeding Joe Cappello.
His appointment comes as Air Malta undergoes a restructuring programme.
Davies was, until recently, the managing director of UK regional carrier Air Southwest, which was sold last year to the parent company of Eastern Airways.
Air Malta says that Davies has today been presented to the airline's restructuring committee.
From its base on the Mediterranean island state, Air Malta operates a fleet of 11 Airbus A319 and A320 twinjets.
