Flying should be plain sailing for flight safety officers making use of AVSiS, a new air safety information package being showcased at Farnborough.

Created by computer software designers AvSoft, it enables officers to log safety events and share that information to "trusted" colleagues over the Internet.

"AVSiS allows officers to build up a list of trends, from spillages, passenger behaviour to technical faults with aircraft," explains Tim Fuller, sales and marketing manager.

Trials will continue for another six months; however, feedback from three major airlines currently trialing the package has been positive.

"The Internet feature is unique. No other system allows the exchange of information over the Internet confidentially.

"Airlines have found AVSiS useful by logging events consistently," says Fuller.
