YEMENIA RECORDERS

Investigators in the Comoros have reportedly recovered the flight recorders of the Yemenia Airbus A310 that crashed on approach to Moroni on 30 June. The reports cite investigation official Mohamed Ali Abdou as saying the devices were taken aboard the vessel EDT Ares. Only one of the 153 people onboard survived.


SINGAPORE LONGHAUL

Jetstar Asia hopes to launch long-haul low-cost services from Singapore if it secures some of the Airbus A330-200s that its 49% shareholder Qantas is taking on lease from next year. These are destined for the Australian Jetstar division, but Jetstar Asia chief executive Chong Phit Lian is hoping to obtain some of them.
