Malaysian carrier AirAsia has reported a profit of 11.8 million ringgit ($3.1 million) for the first half of its financial year from July-December. The airline, which was relaunched as a low-fares carrier a year ago by new owners, recorded operating revenue for the period of 114.3 million ringgit. At present it operates a fleet of six Boeing 737-300s, but plans to increase its fleet to 15 aircraft by the end of this year.
