An Airbus CN235-200M military transport aircraft operated by the Colombian Air Force crashed 31 July, killing all 11 people on board.
The air force said in a statement the crew reported an engine failure prior to the incident.
The aircraft – registration FAC 1261 – came down in Las Palomas, Agustin Codazzi, in the province of Cesar, Colombia, the military says.
The CN235 is powered by two General Electric CT7-9C3 turboprops.
According to Airbus, the aircraft was assembled in Seville, Spain, and was delivered in 1998.
Photos circulating on social media show that the airframe was specially modified.
