German-based IT and communications specialist T-Systems has won a "triple-digit-million-euro" contract to concentrate Airbus's three mainframe data centres - in the UK, France and Germany - into one facility at its headquarters in Toulouse.

Starting in 2004, for a period of five years, T-Systems will operate all the mainframe systems for the three countries' Airbus operations in Toulouse.

T-Systems parent company Deutsche Telekom will also support Airbus's 42,000 PC users for three years by setting up a single integrated hotline based in Hamburg and Toulouse.

The hotlines will handle work that previously required four user helpdesks.
