Airbus edged closer to its full-year target of 15 A350-900 deliveries by handing over four of the type during October, bringing the total to nine.

The deliveries included two to Qatar Airways on 29-30 October, plus one apiece to Vietnam Airlines and Finnair.

Airbus has delivered 495 jets over the first 10 months of this year, with 21 A380s among them.

Over the course of the month the airframer formally recorded a Chinese state deal for 30 A330-300s, helping to take its net order total for 2015 to 850 aircraft.

The October order figures, newly disclosed by the airframer, include four A350-900s for Singapore Airlines.

These four aircraft were part of a broader A350 agreement by the Asian carrier which also covers the acquisition of a longer-range version of the jet.

Airbus says its activity in October – which included a single A321neo order from Aviation Capital Group – took its order total above its full-year predictions.
