IFE
Airbus has selected Thales' TopSeries i-5000 inflight entertainment (IFE) system for installation on an A380-800 flight-test aircraft. The i-5000 is based on the in-service i-4000 video and audio on-demand system, but uses a gigabit ethernet for higher bandwidth. Thales is building its A380 test lab in Irvine, California and the first system will be shipped to Airbus this year.
