Northwest Airlines has agreed a deal to fit its fleet of 385 aircraft and 50 new Airbus A319s with AlliedSignal's new enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS). Deliveries start this month and are to be completed by the end of 2000. The company has also delivered its first multimode receiver to Southwest Airlines. The Quantum system has been certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
