GE Capital Services has ordered 102 B737s, including 82 next generation models, and five B777s. The company has options on a further 76 B737s in a $4 billion deal.

Vietnam Airlines will take 10 A320s on operating leases from Regionair and 3 B767-300s from Gecas.

KLM has ordered two B747-400 combis for delivery in May 1997 and January 1998, while Philippine Airlines has ordered one B747-400 combi.

Atlas Air will purchase six B747-200s from Thai Airways for freighter conversion.

TWA has bought a B767-200 from Nippon Credit Bank in a deal brokered by Fortis Aviation.

British Aerospace's Asset Management Organisation has sealed 20 new leasing deals, including eight new leases, on its BAe146 fleet. UK-based FlightLine has accepted the first of 18 desert-stored BAe146-200s from USAir Leasing.

World Airways is to take the first two extended range McDonnell Douglas MD-11ERs on 24-year leases from the manufacturer, and Garuda has converted an order for three MD-11s into the ER version.

Great China Airlines of Taiwan has ordered six Bombardier Dash 8-400Bs with six options and Japan Airlines subsidiary Ryukyu Air Commuter has ordered three Dash 8-100s with two options.

Romania's DAC Air has ordered four Dash 8-300s, and four Canadair RJ-200s, and the UK's Brymon Airways has ordered five Dash 8-300s. Tyrolean Airways has ordered an extra CRJ-200.

Dijon-based Proteus will operate two Dornier 328s on behalf of Air France/Air Inter Express, while Italian startup Minerva has ordered two 328s with one option. An unnamed US 328 customer has converted five options to firm orders.

British World Airlines has ordered 2 ATR72-210s for delivery in March and May.

Japan Air Commuter has converted two Saab 340 options into firm orders.

Asia Pacific Airlines, a Malaysian regional carrier, has ordered four Fairchild Metro 23s, which will be used to launch domestic scheduled services centred on Langkawi. Hainan Airlines of China is to order 10 Metro 23s.

Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise has chosen Rolls-Royce Trent engines for the six Boeing 777s it has on firm order.
