The final decision on the awards was made by a panel of respected independent judges. The judging, which took place at the Spencer Stuart offices in central London earlier in the year, was chaired by Airline Business editor Kevin O'Toole and facilitated by Michael Bell, co-leader of the aviation practice at Spencer Stuart, one of the world's leading executive search firms. The seven judges were Giovanni Bisignani, Bob Crandall, Prof Rigas Doganis, Peter Harbison, Prof Mike Levine, James Strong and Chris Tarry.
