Air Canada is reducing its shareholding in Continental Airlines to 10 per cent, while retaining 4 per cent voting power, and plans to sell its remaining holding by early 1997. Continental will start a weekly New York/Newark-Dusseldorf flight in July.

United Airlines will launch nonstop Chicago-Hong Kong services on 16 July.

British Airways and America West are to introduce codesharing between BA's London/Gatwick-Phoenix flights and America West domestic destinations.

Ansett Australia is doubling its Sydney-Jakarta frequency to four a week and will start flights to Seoul on 2 July.

Emirates was set to launch twice-weekly Dubai-Athens flights on 1 June.

Swedish regional carrier Air Express has begun Beech 1900D flights serving Stockholm, Norrkoping, Visby, Riga and Tallinn.
