Airlines In The Red

With major US airlines completing their year-end financial reports, the Air Transport Association (ATA) predicts that the industry will record a cumulative loss of $100 million in 1994, the fifth consecutive year of losses. Since 1990, US carriers have lost nearly $13 billion, says ATA. In 1994, its members posted a net loss of $2.14 billion.
