An Airlines PNG Bombardier Dash 8 Q100 turboprop has crashed in Papua New Guinea with 32 people on board.
It is unknown how many of the 28 passengers and four crew survived the accident which occurred near Madang late Thursday afternoon local time. In a statement, the airline said there appeared to be some survivors, but that a number of people remain unaccounted for.
Airlines PNG has grounded its fleet of 12 Q100 aircraft while it conducts an investigation with the authorities to determine the cause of the accident.
