Taiwanese carrier China Airlines is to order 24 widebody aircraft, splitting the agreement between the Airbus A350-1000, Boeing 777-9, and the 777-8 freighter.

The airline will order 10 of each passenger model plus four of the cargo aircraft, it states.

China Airlines values the agreement at around $11.8 billion, citing respective prices of up to $530 million and $448 million for the 777-9s and A350s, and $519 million for the 777-8Fs.

It has given few other details about the agreement, beyond stating that it is “to replace ageing fleet and to improve operating efficiency”.
