Irish-based wet-lease operator CityJet has introduced its first Bombardier CRJ1000, complementing its 21 CRJ900s.
CityJet is taking five of the larger variant, configured with 100 seats, ahead of the summer season.
It says the first was delivered to the carrier on 28 March, arriving in Copenhagen from Ljubljana.
CityJet has identified the aircraft as being registered EI-HIC, which indicates the aircraft was the airframe originally delivered to French regional carrier Brit Air in 2011.
Air France had owned CityJet at the time but did not include the carrier in its consolidation of regional operations under the Hop brand.
CityJet says the CRJ1000 will be used to “support our growing wet-lease business”, and will be assigned to operations on behalf of Lufthansa Group.
It already provides capacity to Scandinavian operator SAS.
