Romanian carrier Fly Lili has secured approval to introduce an Airbus A319, weeks after a row with the country’s civil aviation regulator over hold-ups in the process.

Fly Lili says it has “successfully completed” the induction of the A319 (YR-LIC) onto its air operator’s certificate.

The aircraft will be stationed at Brasov-Ghimbav airport, north of the Romanian capital Bucharest.

“Although we have had a delay in launching our plans, we are happy to be able to offer scheduled services from Brasov,” says the carrier.

Fly Lili will operate the A319 from Brasov-Ghimbav airport

The carrier had previously expressed frustration that approval of the A319 was taking longer than expected, drawing a response from regulator AACR that the jet had required corrective measures following an inspection.

Fly Lili has taken a less abrasive tone, acknowledging the support provided by AACR, and adding: “Together, we were able to overcome the challenges encountered and launch our operating plans.”

It indicates that its route network from Brasov will include services to Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart in Germany, plus Rome, Barcelona and Thessaloniki.

Fly Lili’s fleet also includes Airbus A320s.
