Pakistan International Airlines is to acquire a full-flight simulator for conventional Airbus A320s for installation at its Karachi training centre.
The simulator will be supplied by L3Harris, and delivered for use by August next year, following a contract signature with the Pakistani flag-carrier.
L3Harris says the A320 simulator will be a RealitySevenE model and the first from this range to be supplied to the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region.
“The simulator will significantly enhance PIA’s in-house pilot training capabilities,” says the manufacturer.
PIA updated a Boeing 777 simulator earlier this year, and L3Harris says its ties with the carrier have also previously included training pilots at its facility in Bangkok.
The A320 simulator will give the airline’s pilots the “highest-quality training available” to support the carrier’s recovery and development, says L3Harris vice-president for sales and marketing Robin Glover-Faure.
