Thai regional start-up carrier Pattaya Airways has secured its air operator’s certificate from the country’s civil aviation regulator.

Pattaya Airways took delivery of its initial aircraft (HS-PAW) earlier this year, an ATR 72-500 freighter, and added a second (HS-PAV) shortly afterwards.

It is aiming to build a fleet of five aircraft within five years.

The carrier states that it has received its AOC from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.

It says the “significant achievement” of certification follows “nine months of relentless effort and dedication”.

Pattaya says it plans to operate both domestically and internationally to support logistics and e-commerce growth in the ASEAN region.
