Newly-established wet-lease carrier Avion Express Brasil has secured its air operator’s certificate from the Brazilian regulator ANAC.

The clearance means Avion Express Brasil is poised to commence operations in the first quarter of this year.

It aims to have a fleet of 10 Airbus A320s by the end of 2025.

The airline also intends to expand its operation to 25 aircraft by 2027-28, in order to capitalise on “growing demand for efficient capacity solutions” in Latin America, it says.

Avion Express Brasil will offer Airbus A320-family capacity to operators in the region

Avion Express Brasil is a division of Avion Express, and part of the airline portfolio of Avia Solutions Group.

“It opens up a new market and introduces innovative solutions for capacity management to airlines,” says Avion Express chief Darius Kajokas.

“With the aviation industry experiencing cyclical demand shifts, our [wet-lease] solutions will provide to Brazilian airlines the flexibility they need to optimise their operations.”

The Brazilian carrier enables Avion Express to expand its Latin American presence.

Avion Express previously agreed an A320 wet-lease arrangement with Argentinean carrier Flybondi for the southern hemisphere summer.

It has also been providing aircraft to Mexican budget carrier Viva Aerobus. Avion Express last year joined the Latin American airline association ALTA.
