Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has acquired a majority stake in Airmotive Ireland, following intense negotiations on possible technical co-operation between LHT and Airmotive parent Aer Lingus. Airmotive focuses on servicing Pratt & Whitney JT8 and JT9 engines as well as CFM International CFM56s. Its 1996 turnover was $100 million, about a fifth of LHT's.
