Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has announced plans to develop the Asia-Pacific region's first dedicated on-airport education and training precinct.

The Brisbane Airport Aviation Education precinct will be a fully master planned campus consisting of university centres, TAFE courses, airlines and private training providers, with small traditional class activities taking place alongside full-scale hangars providing full aircraft maintenance and training.

It is expected to draw interest from the massive Asia-Pacific market, as well as Australian private and public sector organisations looking for the space, scope and facilities to meet training and related needs.

BAC property development manager Rob MacTaggart says the precinct builds on the huge success of the Aviation Australia Centre for Aviation Excellence, and the Boeing FlightSafety simulator facility, which is due for completion later this year.
