US subsidiaries of Swedish company Skanska have won a $386 million contract to build a new terminal for Delta Air Lines at Boston Logan International Airport, for completion in the fourth quarter of 2004. The July 2002 opening of the new passenger terminal at Tel-Aviv's Ben-Gurion international airport is expected to be delayed by one year after the Turkish main contractor Ceylan was forced to cease operations. The Israeli airport authority is to begin negotiations with all the Israeli subcontractors about one of them taking over the completion of the project. Passenger through-put at Belgrade international airport is set to total 600-700,000 passengers for 2000. The airport is rebuilding operations after the suspension of the European Union flight ban to Yugoslav in February. Traffic should further improve if the USA lifts its flight ban. Work on an all-weather CAT 3B instrument landing system should be accomplished during the next year. Meanwhile the airport's Terminal 2 and part of the international arrivals building will be expanded.
