A J Walter Aviation (AJW) is holding a series of colourful shows at Asian Aerospace to celebrate the recent opening of its Singapore office. Although active in the Asian market since 1989, this is the first time the company has had a permanent office in Singapore. AJW already has a string of offices in the region, including Jakarta, Manila, Bombay and Kuala Lumpur. It specialises in the supply and repair of a wide range of aircraft components.

Melvin Woon has been appointed as sales manager and he will be responsible for developing the Singapore office.

Christopher Whiteside, AJW managing director, says having permanent representation in Singapore makes sense as it provides easier access to local markets and allows AJW to control its own marketing.

"The opening of the Singapore office gives us a strategic bridge that will ensure our repair capabilities and inventory, particularly the A320 and A330 series components, are marketed most effectively to our customers. In particular, we can now offer a better service and cover to the new low-cost start-ups in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Thailand," he says.
