A J Walter Aviation (AJW) is on course for a record year in 2004 and to celebrate that it's "walking tall": The component specialist has deployed stilt walkers around the show.

AJW equalled its age in sales - $72 million in its 72nd year - and this year opened offices in Singapore, Spain, the Netherlands and the USA.

Privately owned, it nevertheless rivals major maintenance providers such as national carriers and public companies.

Spares

The company now concentrates on the stock supply of Stage 3 and 4 aircraft spares on a contractual basis, providing total care packages and power-by-the-hour support.

Comprehensive stock across the main aircraft types enables AJW to support a one-off AOG requirement or a routine exchange or sale of a spare.

Partnerships with manufacturers such as Ultra Electronics, Honeywell and Litton enable AJW to provide effective solutions for international operators, maintenance companies and air forces.

AJW managing director Christopher Whitside says: "We are focussed on ensuring that our product support service is run by nationals who speak the language and understand the culture in their home market."

AJW's global operations extend to 109 countries overall. It has offices in 40.
