Alcatel and Finmeccanica have finalised the management teams of their two space joint ventures, Alcatel Alenia Space and Telespazio Holding. Finmeccanica’s chief operating officer Giorgio Zappa will take on the position of chairman of Alcatel Alenia Space’s supervisory board, with Alcatel Space president and chief executive Pascale Sourisse taking on the same roles at the new company. Olivier Houssin, Alcatel executive vice-president and president of the company’s private communications group, including space activities, takes on the role of chairman of Telespazio Holding’s board of directors, while Giusseppe Veredice becomes chief executive. Alcatel Alenia Space is 67% owned by Finmeccanica and 33% by Alcatel and combines the activities of Alcatel Space and Alenia Spazio. Telespazio Holding is 67% owned by Finmeccanica and 33% by Alcatel.
