FAA gives green light to revised fan blade tests for General Electric GEnx engine for Boeing 787
The US Federal Aviation Administration has approved plans by General Electric to conduct the critical fan blade-off tests for the GEnx engine for the Boeing 787 which involves detaching the blade further along its length, rather than right at the root as in normal blade-off tests.

NTSB releases safety recommendations in light of October 2004 Pinnacle Airlines CRJ200 crash
The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has called on the Federal Aviation Administration to implement 11 safety recommendations in the wake of the October 2004 Pinnacle Airlines Bombardier CRJ200 crash.
