Sir - There was some misleading information in the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Directory (Flight International, 22-28 January, P25).
It was indicated that AlliedSignal's 36-300 APU, standard equipment on Airbus single-aisle aircraft, will be replaced by our new 131-9(A) APU.
This is incorrect. AlliedSignal has orders for the 36-300 which carry into the next century, and we will continue to offer both the upgraded 36-300-4 and the next-generation 131-9(A) as two viable and competitive AlliedSignal APU alternatives for Airbus single-aisle aircraft.
