ALLIEDSIGNAL Aerospace has acquired Northrop Grumman's Precision Products business in Norwood, Massachusetts.

The former Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems Division makes tactical and strategic gyroscopes and related navigation, guidance and control systems. These include "strapdown" mid-course guidance systems for the US Navy's Harpoon anti-ship missile and Stand-off Land Attack Missile, and the US Air Force/USN AIM-120 AMRAAM.

The business will be absorbed into AlliedSignal's Government Electronic Systems which makes inertial and sensor systems at four sites in the USA.
