French flight simulator manufacturer Alsim is aiming at the US market this year, following success in Europe with its Bombardier Dash 8 and ATR 42 simulators.

The Nantes-based company last year delivered an AL 300 MCC (multi-crew co-operation) Dash 8 simulator to Augsburg Airways, and is developing its ATR 42 simulator with a French flight training school.

Alsim develops static flight trainers, cheaper to operate than full-motion simulators, that use high-definition TFT computer screens to display flightdeck instruments. The company plans to study the development of commercial jet simulators for the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320, or the Bombardier CRJ or Embraer regional jet families.
